People can say many things about you, but not being able to keep your word is not one of the things you want. People trust other people who do the things they say they are going to do. In order to be able to influence others whether at work or socially, you have to be able to tell someone something and they trust that it will be done. Trust is important within all relationships. Keeping your word should be something you want to uphold with pride because no one can really call you out on anything that you haven’t already been fixed. Your days are full of all kinds of exciting things so keeping your word should come natural if you keep a few things in mind.
Make your promises simple
Don’t spend your time trying to make elaborate promises to people that may be way out of your reach. It’s just as simple as they say, “under promise and over deliver.” You don’t have to add a bunch of extra anything at the end to make others like what you have, sell or who you are. When you make things simple, you make it easier on yourself should things change as they frequently do in the real world.
Don’t waste time
Get to work! After making decisions, make your first move. The longer you hold it off the more likely you will forget. That may mean you have mark a date on your calendar, or set up an automatic payment. You want to get things done as precisely and quickly as possible. Not wasting time helps ensure that you have enough time to get things completed. Jump in as soon as you can.
Telling someone what you are going to do is one thing, but follow through is exceptional and depending what type of business your in it’s necessary. Follow through in all that you do, from the simple tasks to the largest tasks. Practice getting things done. If that means you need some daily schedule then get on that quickly. You want to make sure the other person feels delighted in what you have given them. The more delighted they are with you, the higher your trust rating go. When you follow through, you show others that you have the ability to go the extra mile as you are professional.
In a world where things are valued more than life, your word is all that you have. Your representation is based on how you carry yourself and what you say that’s truthful. Your word is your bond and that’s the truth behind the whole thing. If you want to get positive vibes you have to first give positive vibes. No one wants to be known for not keeping their word and its for a good reason. If you ever feel like you need a little reminder, remember to make your promises simple, don’t waste time and to follow through.
