2 steps to hydrated skin

I have had dry skin for all of my life. It’s hard to explain to your friends that no matter what you put on your skin it wont stop itching. I thought it was just something I had to deal with until I had my first child and she was also diagnosed with eczema. Finding the right products can get pricey and annoying. They have all kinds of smells, textures and all of their results vary.

When our skin getting crazy (due to varying factors like the weather and allergies), I started getting serious about using natural hair care products. It was only normal that I also started natural body products. I found 2 steps that helped to hydrate my families skin without being expensive, stinky or too much of a process.

STEP 1: WASH YOUR FACE

Here’s the tricky part to hydrating your skin, you must wash your face with soap and water. There are all kinds of soaps that help to moisturize your skin and that’s only a part of what your looking for. You choose a soap that matches your needs. I personally love the Dr. Bronner’s pure-castile peppermint soap, it comes in a bar or liquid. You can find it in any grocery store in the natural sections.

STEP 2: CREME YOUR FACE

People love oils and they are great sometimes but I live by African Shea Butter. I have been using it for 7 years and have never had to use another product.

Of course there are many factors when you are talking about skin hydration. You must also take your meal and drinking habits into consideration. In order to exert hydration you must take it in and the best way is by drinking water.  Drinking water is great for your entire body and it shows from the inside out.

The foods you eat also change your body and although you may like certain foods, they may be a part of the reason that your skin is drying out. If you follow these two steps along with healthy eating and drinking habits you are sure to see change. Do you have some tips about keeping our skin hydrated or healthy living?
