4 Ways To Lower Stress & Raise Your Spiritual Wellness

Spiritual Wellness is not something that comes across your mind frequently. Spiritual wellness is the way you spend time reflecting. If you’re not careful or have some tips to help you overcome the stress it will kill you, silently. Being spiritually well and aware will help you to avoid the extra stress. Spirituality has allowed me to lower my stress levels and overcome things I never though I could or would. Knowing that I’m connected with a force that’s greater than me makes me feel like the world is mine to take.

Many times Spiritual Wellness is a topic that is either overlooked all together, used as a type of pressure to change behavior or never shared as a spiritual formula. No one wants to talk about spirituality because they don’t want to be churched out but Spirituality in an individual activity. You can share your experiences with others through connection but you don’t have to connect to others to be spiritual.

When you’re making major transitions in life, finding ways to help relive the tensions that are damaging to your spiritual health can be scattered. Here are 4 ways to help increase spiritual wellness and lower stress.

Meditation

Mediation is the act of thinking. For busy bodies like me this can seem like a no-no but it actually makes you train your brain to calm down. Once you get you thoughts to slow down, then you enter a state of tranquility. editation promotes attention, concentration, calmness and clear-headedness. It’s used with exercises such as yoga to help make the proper mental, physical, and spiritual connections.

This is a great way to connect with yourself. Meditating gives you a moment to be free of structured thinking. Here is where you find the answers to the questions you forgot you wanted the answer to.

Prayer

There are several kinds of prayers. Prayer is the belief that there is a higher being in control of your life and prayer is a line of communication. Giving yourself over to something greater than you gives you a sense of compassion, hope, and gratitude, all of which affect your life positively.

People who believe in God and prayer are usually higher achievers. Those who pray, are proven to have higher positive responses to  fighting conditions like depression which affects a lot of people worldwide. Prayer is a mental release and needed to sort your thoughts.

Yoga

Yoga is an easy way to keep yourself healthy and in shape. This kind of exercise without it being strenuous while also building flexibility and body awareness. Yoga is a great way to connect your body and become more aware, spiritually and physically.

I practice yoga faithfully and it has changed my spiritual connect by making it open and I have noticed that once i combined yoga with mediation and prayer I became fully spiritually aware. Don’t be afraid of yoga, I have injuries and I’m more flexible now than I may ever had been.

Journaling

When you write things down you get them out of your head and clear the extra space needed for more important things. I have always loved to write. I remember having a notebook just for me to practice writing my name in cursive and of course I had a diary up until my adult ages.

It has been a year since I have had a journal. I recently read that journaling helps with mental health and feelings of not being heard. Everyone doesn’t go to counseling, have friends or tell others whats really going on inside of them. If I just described you in some way then you need to start writing away. It will help you release the extra tensions in your life that you don’t feel comfortable telling others. I have found this technique to help tremendously especially when I’m emotionally down.

When you are a trying to get aligned spiritually, it is always great to have multiple ways to stay connected.
