There are only 3 more days of the #sistayogachallenge as we enjoy Day 12. Today’s pose just as yesterday is a sitting pose. Although it is not as strenuous as other poses, you still need to take your time (especially if you have back issues like me). The great thing about this pose is, if you do have lower back issues this pose will help with many of the issues you are having.
Some of the benefits of the Back-To-Back Twist Pose:
- Stretches the shoulders and hips
- Boosts the spine and core
- Stimulates digestion
- Relieves lower backache, neck pain and sciatic pain
I can’t stress enough how important it is to take your time when practicing. Just as in any other activity in which you have to move your body, you can get hurt without the proper knowledge and without taking your time to listen to your body. If you know you can go past a certain point, STOP!
There is no need to compete, we’re in this together. If you need help, ask for it. I know time is precious which is why I want you to actually slow down and take in the energy that you poses.
